Hunting opportunities, cultivating impact
Kynegos was born within the Capital Energy group to bring its own technology capabilities to market: geospatial intelligence, industrial cybersecurity, critical infrastructure management and AI. It was neither a fund nor an accelerator, and it did not yet know how to define itself. We positioned it as an innovation and impact hub that works like a company builder: it brings industry, public administrations, talent and investors to the same table so that projects happen. We then designed its identity, its brand guidelines and its website.

01. Challenge
Many capabilities, no category
Capital Energy’s communications team told us they were about to launch a spin-off and were not yet sure how to define it. They had proven capabilities within the group (geospatial intelligence, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure management, AI) and a platform to develop digital solutions.
And they had four very different audiences: industry, public administrations, talent and investors. Without a clear category, each of them would understand something different.
02. Solution
Neither fund nor launchpad: a hub that makes things happen
We started by analysing the technology ecosystem. Kynegos had traits of an investment fund and of a launchpad, but it was neither. What set it apart was its ability to bring every player to the same table. That is the role of a company builder, and it gave us the category: an innovation and impact hub.
The name needed its own reading. “Kynegos” comes from the Greek for hunter, an image that could sound aggressive. Instead of hunting opportunities for oneself, we looked at the hunter’s role within a community: the one who finds what the group needs. It matched their intention to build a community around technology and was summed up in a line: Hunting opportunities, cultivating impact.
From there we defined the key messages, the positioning as an impact hub and the differentiation: impact projects, not just technology.
The visual and verbal identity reads with technology codes and also with impact codes. The symbol builds the K from Kynegos’s own activity: a rectangle lying down (create) that tilts (launch) and stands upright (scale). Key messages end with «_», the cursor of someone writing code: a nod to the developer community that also lives in the animation. And the palette alludes to nature and to the impact purpose of a brand pursuing economic, social, cultural and environmental sustainability.
It was all captured in comprehensive brand guidelines and brought to life on a website we designed (UX/UI) and developed.
03. Impact
A category that is still alive
Kynegos launched with a clear positioning, a voice to speak to industry, institutions, talent and investors at once, and guidelines the team actually uses. Today its website presents it as a digital impact hub within a co-innovation ecosystem.
“We had many capabilities and no clear way to explain them. Salago helped us define the role we play and tell it the same way to industry, institutions and talent.”
David Díaz, Project Manager, Kynegos
